BRUSSELS Thiago Silva World Cup Jersey , Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- The European Commission announced in a press release on Friday that it adopted an implementing act that lays out specifications for the new combined health warnings on packages of tobacco products for smoking.

These specifications were required under the Tobacco Products Directive (201440EU), said the European Commission.

As stipulated in the Directive, the new health warnings will comprise a color photograph, a text warning on the harmful effects of smoking and smoking cessation information, which should collectively cover 65 percent of the front and back of packages.

"The implementing decision adopted today provides for technical specifications for the layout, design and shape of the combined health warnings taking into account different packet shapes," said the European Commission.

These new health warnings will appear on packages across the European Union (EU) from May 2016.

Stressing the importance of technology, Modi said: "Technology will be a strong foundation of India-Africa partnership. We will work to reduce digital divide within Africa and between Africa and the rest of the world."

He added "We will also deepen India-Africa partnership on clean energy, sustainable habitats, public transport and climate resilient agriculture. It will help develop Africa's agricultural infrastructure. Agriculture in Africa can support global food security."

Earlier, Modi hailed the summit, saying the meeting of India and African nations has brought one third of humanity under one roof.

"The heart beat of 1.25 billion Indians and 1.25 billion Africans are in rhythm. It is not just a meeting of India and Africa. Today, the dreams of one-third of humanity have come together under one roof. We have spoken in one voice in the world and formed a partnership of prosperity," he said.

Some 54 African nations are participating in the four-day summit, which is being attended by at least 34 heads of state or heads of government in what is being claimed as India's biggest Africa outreach program.
